Product Description
KURRAJONG TREE SEEDS (Raw, whole)
(Brachychiton populneus)
Kurrajong seeds are edible after being roasted and can be either eaten whole or ground. Add roasted ground seeds to add a dark rich nutty flavour to biscuits, crepes, muffins and dough.
HOW TO ROAST KURRAJONG SEEDS:
- Place kurrajong seeds into the heavy frying pan over a low heat. A cast iron frying pan is ideal.
- Allow pan to gently heat, shaking the toasted kurrajong seeds regularly.
- The kurrajong seeds will start to pop and dance around the pan as they toast, almost like popcorn
PLANT A KURRAJONG TREE:
Seeds are readily germinated and immersion in warm-hot water soaking for 12 hours enhances success. Care must be taken to avoid the irritating hairs surrounding the seeds
